Happy New Year everyone! I hope your festive season was filled with happiness and joy for you and all of your family! I’ve had a lovely self-imposed computer break but I am back and super refreshed!
I’ve been pretty good taking pics over the holidays; I didn’t manage it everyday, but I managed almost everyday! Enjoy!!
Thursday 22nd December – This dress was a new buy and something a little bit different for me. The neckline is about 2 inches higher than I usually buy, and I do think it makes my bust appear much larger. However, the long beaded necklaces create a long vertical line that I think helps to visually reduce them a bit. But overall, I really like the dress. You can’t see it in the picture, but there is some gorgeous broderie lace trim along the neckline and down the centre front of the dress.
Friday 23rd December – I really love this outfit, because I can fit into the top and the skirt again!! There is still a bit of a tummy roll, but losing a couple of kilos has made a huge difference. Ignore my hair – it was still mostly wet from the shower and that’s why it’s totally flat around my head.
Christmas Eve – I mostly spent this day running around at home, wrapping presents etc, so I wanted something comfy but still relatively pretty. Seeing the pic now, though, I am not sure I will wear this top with the pants again!
Christmas Day – I know they say pictures don’t lie, but I got a heap of compliments from my in-law side of the family on this outfit (my Mum and my Dad hate me wearing black, so no surprise on the lack of compliments there!). So even though it looks a bit sack-like in the pics, I really liked this outfit.
Wednesday 28th December – another outfit I can finally fit back into to! As my son would say, “Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah!” I really like this outfit because it feels a bit more fun and fresh compared to what I usually wear, and I love the mix of the neutral colours – its not too far out of my comfort zone, but is jazzier than all black.
Thursday 29th December – today we took the kids to see Disney Live! Irini loved it, and I think Stephen enjoyed most of it, but he found the concert and the hundreds of screaming kids too much, and complained that it was too noisy for most of it! I picked up this top in Coldwater Creek’s 50% off everything sale, and I think it is my new favourite top! It is a lovely and light georgette material, perfect for the humid summers here in Perth, and is a gorgeous print, with a vine green print on a ivory background.
Saturday 31st December – No, I didn’t post the same pic twice. Yes, this is the same outfit as two days ago (including accessories), but with different shoes – see, I try to mix it up a bit!! I love these shoes – they are super comfortable, especially for high heels (shoes – Urban Soul).
New Year’s Eve – Every year we go to the Greek club for their New Year’s Eve Dance with my in-laws. It is a great night, and really family friendly with lots of organised children’s activities. It’s great to be able to have a bit of a dance, some food, a few drinks, and still be able to spend NYE with the kids. The evening is not super dressy (no ball gowns or cocktail dresses here!) so I went for a navy and white jersey dress with navy and white espadrille sandals. Ignore the necklace in the pic – after seeing the pic I realised the necklace didn’t look great, so swapped it out for some chunky faux pearls which looked much better. I am in love with the dress! It was a super bargain at Myer’s Stocktake Sale, but it is so flattering I would happily have paid full price for it. I love how the navy pattern lightens towards the bottom – it adds interest and the darker parts minimise my heavier parts.
Jersey dress – Basque by Myer
Navy espadrilles – Lands End
Bracelets – Pandora
Red Coral Bracelet – handmade by my mum!!
Monday 2nd January – a pretty casual day, with a lunch at Nick’s grandfather’s house for his name day, and then seeing my parents for the afternoon and dinner.
Tuesday 3rd January – a lazy day at home!
